The PPUA four-year Undergraduate program caters to high-school graduates aspiring to pursue studies in classical and popular music, design, multimedia systems, education, languages, dance, and theater.

The Application Process

The first step is to sign up for the scholarship exam. The first exam will be held on 9/21/2024, and there will be at least one exam per week through the end of December (we recommend scheduling your exam sooner than later, as merit awards are limited).

For those applying to majors in music or design, please be prepared to present the following during your scholarship exam:

Music Majors

  • Instrumental, Piano, and Voice majors: Be prepared to perform two pieces, representing contrasting styles.
  • Composition majors: Be prepared to share a recent composition, play an instrument, sing, or demonstrate your musical interests and aptitude.

Design Majors

  • Prepare a portfolio containing at least five pieces of your artwork.

After completing your scholarship exam, you’ll receive notification of your results typically within 2-3 business days.

To formally accept your place in the upcoming year’s class and secure your offer, submit your application, documents, and registration fee (Step 3 below).

Complete the application form, submit the required supporting documents, and pay a one-time registration fee of $100 USD at the main administrative office (located on the ground floor).

Terms & Conditions | Phnom Penh Design Festival 2024

==ELIGIBILITY==

Students – all currently enrolled university students.
Professionals – all independent artists and individuals working in a design-related field.

*All submitted artwork must be the original creation of the applicant.
*Students who wish to participate in the Student Marketplace event MUST also submit an artwork for the exhibition.

==SUBMISSION GUIDELINES==

1. One Work of Art:

  • Architecture/Interior Design: One 3D model, minimum 30x30cm to maximum 50x50cm.
  • Fashion Design: One wearable artwork (e.g. clothing, accessories, bags, scarves, etc.)
  • Visual Communications Design: One print at 300 DPI, minimum size A3 to maximum A1

*If selected, artists must provide any materials required to display their artwork.

2. Artist Statement:

  • Provide a brief statement (300-500 words) explaining how your work reflects the festival theme. Please include title, medium if necessary, and year of creation.

==ARTWORK SUBMISSION DEADLINE==

All artwork must be delivered to the festival venue by September 30, 2024.

Applicants are responsible for the transportation of their artwork.

==SELECTION PROCESS==

Due to limited space, there will be a selection process for artwork displayed at the festival’s exhibition.

The festival committee will carefully review all submissions and select the pieces that best fit the theme
and objectives of the event.

Artists whose works are selected will be contacted via the contact information provided on the application form on October 4, 2024 with further instructions and details. We appreciate your patience and encourage all participants to showcase their creativity and unique perspectives in their
submissions.

==STUDENT MARKETPLACE ARTWORK DEADLINE==

For those who wish to participate in the Student Marketplace, please ensure that your artistic goods and merchandise are delivered to the festival venue by October 5th, 2024. We reserve the right to deny
any goods that do not meet this deadline.

The festival committee reserves the right to reject any products that are deemed inappropriate.

==DISPLAY AND CARE==

PPDF organizers do not take responsibility for any damage or loss of artworks during the exhibition.

Applicants must handle their own artwork during the event and during the setup process.

Applicant must make a list of their asset in order to store their artwork in the storage room.

==SALES AND COMMISSIONS (FOR STUDENT MARKETPLACE ONLY)==

There will be a 10% commission on all goods sold in the Student Marketplace. This will help to fund future festivals and workshops.

==COPYRIGHT AND REPRODUCTION==
Artists retain copyright of their submitted artworks.

By submitting artwork, artists grant PPDF organizers the right to use images of their artworks for
promotional purposes.

==AGREEMENT==
By submitting an application, the artist agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.

PPDF organizers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
